Job: Senior Physiotherapist- Acute

Location: Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
Job Type: Full-time, 6 month specified purpose contract with strong possibility for extension.
Salary: HSE Pay Scale Applies, depending on experience

Excel Recruitment is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist on behalf of a busy Acute Hospital in Tipperary. This full-time role offers a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your physiotherapy career, leading patient rehabilitation in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of advanced physiotherapy interventions in an acute hospital setting.
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop tailored treatment plans for patients with a variety of medical conditions, including post-surgical, respiratory, neurological, and musculoskeletal cases.
  • Provide expert clinical reasoning and evidence-based rehabilitation programs to optimise patient recovery.
  • Supervise and mentor junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants, supporting their clinical development.
  • Collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and allied health teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide guidance on discharge planning and post-hospital rehabilitation.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives, quality improvement, and best practice strategies within the department.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold professional standards in physiotherapy care.

Essential Criteria:

  • BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy (CORU registration essential).
  • Minimum of three years’ post-graduate experience as a Physiotherapist, with a strong background in acute hospital care.
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient-centred approach.
