Clinical Psychologist
Excel Healthcare is currently seeking a Clinical Psychologist to provide the highest standard of care to service users in a step-down facility in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. This facility is an overflow for an acute hospital located nearby and would suit anyone looking for a role in a sub-acute facility.
This centre focuses on taking care of patients who do not require acute care, but they are not ready to be discharged to their place of residence.

Responsibilities of a Clinical Psychologist:
- Competence in delivering a professional service.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) to effectively carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
- Work within the boundaries of professional competence, adhering to the principles of best practice, professional conduct, and clinical governance
- Conduct psychological assessments for the client group using appropriate methods, including psychological tests, self-report measures, direct and indirect observations, and interviews with clients, family members and staff members.
- Represent and advocate for patients’ psychological needs.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members and others to ensure cohesive service delivery.
- Initiate and contribute to needs assessments and health promotion activities, as appropriate.
Requirements for this Clinical Psychologist job:
- Have a university degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) in which Psychology was taken as a major subject.
- Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology, or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland, we are not able to offer sponsorship for this role.
- High levels of organizational and communication skills.
- A compassionate approach to patients.
