Responsibilities of this HSE Psychiatric Nurse job in Portlaoise:

• Adhere to HSE procedures, guidelines and policies at all times.
• Work closely with other members of the nursing, medical and management team as well as the patients and their families.
• Find long lasting solutions and form achievable and meaningful goals for the patients in a recovery-focused environment.
• Respect patient privacy, confidentiality and dignity at all times.
• Conduct full comprehensive mental health assessments.

Requirements of this HSE Psychiatric Nurse job in Portlaoise:

• Must be currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Valid permission to work in Ireland (EU/EEA citizenship or valid work visa).
• Hold a degree in Psychiatric Nursing or General Nursing followed by a postgraduate degree in psychiatric mental health nursing.
• Have experience working in acute settings and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Crisis intervention skills in the event of psychiatric emergencies.
